You would think that no matter how big or small the arguments would get, that you would always find a way back to each other. But it really wasn’t the case for the two of you.
You’ve gotten a job opportunity at the company of your dreams. However, their office is ten thousand miles away from home. At first, you weren’t sure what to do. You built your life around getting into the company of your dreams, however you never prepared yourself for the day that you have to leave San Fransokyo. Not only that, you would be leaving Tadashi behind. But after a few days of hesitation, you decided to take the risk and go for it.
You and Tadashi were in your apartment watching your favorite TV show while eating Chinese take out. You couldn’t concentrate on the current episode of That 70’s Show because you didn’t know how to tell Tadashi about the job. If you tell him about it, he would for sure be supportive of it. Right? It’s not like he would just tell you to turn it down…
“Something wrong Y/N”? He snaps you out of your daze.
“No! Nothing’s wrong”. You quickly said.
“You sure? You barely touched your eggplant and tofu”. He pointed at your food with his chopsticks.
You look down at the take out box. It was barely half empty.
“I’m just not hungry”. You said, playing with your food.
“Y/N, if something’s bothering you, you can always talk to me”. Said Tadashi.
You look down at the food. “I guess it’s time”. You thought.
You put your food down and turned off the TV. You turned to him and gently held his hands.
“There is something I’ve been meaning to tell you”. You confessed.
“Okay”. He turns to you. “You got my full attention”.
“Well, remember I told you about that job interview for that company I always wanted to work at”? You started.
He thought for a bit before replying. “The one with the virtual reality and AI research?”
You nodded.
“Well…” you sighed.
“I got the job”. You looked up at him giving him a small smile.
His eyes lit up and he started smiling ear to ear. “Y/N that’s amazing! See! I knew they would like you”! He hugged you tightly.
“Yeah. However, they want me to work at their London office”. You added.
Tadashi’s face fell as he let go of you. “Oh, I see”.
“I know, I promised I would stay, but I didn’t think they would relocate me. But hey, we’ve been through this before. Who said we couldn’t do it again ”. You said
“Yeah, yeah totally”. Tadashi looked at the ground.
You noticed his facial expression. It was a mix of sadness and disappointment. You knew that he wouldn’t approve of this.
“Did I say something wrong”? You ask.
“It’s nothing like that, it’s just”… he trailed off
“It’s just what”? You pressed on.
He let out a sigh before continuing “I had a plan for us to move in together after college. For us to start our life together”.
“I know this is a huge shift from what we’ve planned Tadashi. But this is my dream, you know I couldn’t just let this slip by”. You said in attempts to justify your reasons .
“What about us and everything we built”? He said, emphasizing on “us”.
“Well what about me? You knew how important this job and this company is to me”! You exclaimed
“Am I not important to you”? He asks
“You are, that’s not what I meant. I just thought you would be more supportive of me”.
“I was so supportive Y/N! I supported you when you went abroad for a semester, I supported when you had that 8 week internship over the summer! I was there for you through thick and thin, and now you’re leaving again”? He raise his voice.
You tried to calm the situation down, “Tadashi please I”-
“You never think about the consequences of your decisions and how it affects others. YOU ARE SO INCREDIBLY SELFISH”. He yelled, his words piercing into your ego.
You were both sitting on opposites sides of your black leather couch. The room fell silent. The only thing you both could hear was the clock ticking away and you attempting to muffle your sniffles. But before long, you hear Tadashi letting out a sigh, breaking the short term silence. between the two of you.
“I don’t know if I can wait for you this time Y/N”. Tadashi looks at you.
“No. Please stay. I want you to stay”. Your mind screamed.
“Then leave”.
You felt the couch cushions rise as Tadashi got up. He grabbed his hat from the hooks along with his keys.
Before he closed the apartment door, he looked at you hoping you would say something to make him stay. But you just sat there and stared at the blank TV.
“Goodbye Y/N”. He shuts the door.
And that was the last time you ever saw him.
The next thing you know, you got a call from Aunt Cass. She slowly broke the news about Tadashi’s passing. At first you thought Tadashi was doing this in retaliation for what happened a few weeks ago. But after the news broke out about the fire that killed Tadashi and Professor Callahan, the sad reality settles in. Tadashi is gone.
The funeral was short and simple. You stood in silence, hovering over your late boyfriend’s tomb stone while everyone around you cried. You didn’t think this was going to happen. It wasn’t supposed to happen.
You weren’t planning on sticking around during the reception. But before you could leave, Aunt Cass stopped you.
“Tadashi wrote something for you”. She hands you a white envelope.
You thanked her and began to make your way to the door. But as you were about to leave, you made eye contact with Hiro. You were about to say something, but he disappeared into his room.
You came back to your semi empty apartment physically and emotionally drained. All of your furniture has been shipped to your new apartment in london, and the only thing left is a small white mattress and a few cardboard boxes stacked into a pyramid. You took a bottle of wine from one of the moving boxes and drank out of it. You sat on the floor, letting your head fall back against the wall. Looking down at the envelope, you carefully opened it. You took out the paper and unfolded it.
Dear Y/N,
I wanted to call or text you, but I don’t think you would respond. I’ll be sending this to you after the SFIT showcase. You know that I’m never good with words or with writing down my feelings, so bear with me.
I want to start off by saying, I’m sorry. I’m sorry for calling you selfish. You were so excited about your dream job, and I ruined our night. You were never selfish to begin with, I was. The truth is, I got scared. I know we’ve done long distance in the past, but the thought of us eventually drifting apart scared me. I should’ve been more vulnerable when it came down with these things, but I didn’t know how to bring it up.
I never want to loose you. I couldn’t imagine my life without you. Remember during our date at the butterfly gardens, we were all alone in the auditorium and I randomly blurted out “I want us to last forever”. Well, when I said forever, I meant it. I want us to last for a lifetime.
If anything, I want you to take that job. You’ve worked so hard for it and I bet you would make a great employee at the London office. understand that I cause you some pain, and I don’t expect you to forgive me now. But when you’re ready, I’ll be here, waiting for you.
I love you so much Y/N.
Sincerely,
Tadashi
You buried your head in your arms as you let out loud sobs. You cries drowned out the sounds of the thunder and rain outside.
You couldn’t help but wonder what life would be like if you never took that job offer. What would happen if you apologized to him. Telling him how much you loved him, telling him to stay. The amount of instant regret fills up your heart, and there was no way of getting rid of the grief that came with it.
“I miss you, I’m sorry”.

“And then I see you... And I love you all over again.”
Tags: midnight talks; closure; kinda painful ig; unrequited love (or is it)
Summary: Sometimes, we all try to find peace in the midst of the chaos that is happening within our lives. But how can you find chaos if the same person that brings you that same problem is also someone that you find hard to let go?
Word Count: 2697 words
The moon shined brightly above the horizon, in its full glory, putting those who are a witness to her beauty in a tranquil daze at such a magical encounter. The dark surroundings were slightly luminated by her gentle light, bringing forth to the vision little details of the path to the city and silhouette of the trees that, at that hour, seemed like they hold such mysterious secrets kept for decades. The stars twinkled and danced along side the bright luminous moon, shining on their own rhythm, singing to the light of their almighty companion.
You felt the kiss of the evening breeze, which in turn made you hug your ukulele. You let your gaze wander through the dark silhouettes of the sleeping city, the sound of the insects humming in a choir in the distance serving as your accompaniment to the acoustic music that you were trying to create at that hour. 'My', you thought to yourself,  'I wonder what's in store for me?'
Through the moment of silent contemplation, and the staring and trying to make sense of the silhouettes painted in the distance, your fingers found itself lingering on to the frets of the instrument that you held tightly between your grasps. With clueless hands and a wandering mind, you let whatever music that may be produced from your thoughtless fingertips on for the silence of the world to hear. With each motion, the small scarf tied to the neck of the ukulele made a little moving motion, slightly tickling your leg. Shifting slightly from your position, you continued on to play to the insects and the darkness.
Mindlessly, you found yourself playing the intro of a song you know by heart. As if on instinct, your hands knew the correct tempo, the precise rhythm, and the correct placement of the chords that you didn't have to take a second glance to know where your fingertips were at, because your heart knew where to place them. And with each breath you took serving as the metronome for the rhythm and the tempo.
Your phone then rang, throwing you off of the daze that you found yourself caught on. You glanced at the contact saw that it was Hiro. Smiling a bit, you placed your phone on the window sill and answered the call. You pressed the speaker button and smiled as his voice soon filled the silence of your solitude.
"Hello," you greeted.
"Hey," he replied, his voice noticeably deep.
"How was your nap?" You asked with a little giggle. He chuckled and you could hear a yawn from the other side, signifying that he just, indeed, woke up from his nap.
"Shouldn't you be sleeping? It's already late."
You giggled a bit and eyed the moon up above, humming a bit before answering his query. "The moon's beautiful tonight."
Your hand began to strum your ukulele. You let a few notes hang in the air for a moment, before you began to hum along the lyrics of the song that you were playing earlier. Somehow, you found yourself being sucked into the small world that the melody brought forth, and you almost forgot that you were in the phone with someone.
"Hold on, I have to grab something," he said, which then somehow snapped you out of the little reverie you caught yourself onto. You could hear the shuffling of the covers from the other line and you hummed in acknowledgement. Continuing to strum your ukulele, the pattern over the past second became more and more consistent, and each strum becoming more and more familiar. You waited for the cue and then began sing the first lines of the song Heavy Crown by Trixie Mattel.
"Heavy head and a heavy crown, had a few since you came to town. Where are you gonna keep them still?"
"Winning's losing with a couple strings, it's a choosing between two things. It's a two-piece suit or all the frills."
You giggled a bit when your finger strummed the wrong string. You then paused and eyed the moon above, continuing on with your contemplation all the while waiting for the other person form the other side of the line to come back.
"Why'd you stop?" Hiro suddenly spoke.
His question made you blink. Needing a moment to process his question, you stayed silent, slightly confused. When you finally caught up, you could feel your eyes widening in shock and your heart stopping for a moment.
"O-oh? You heard that?" You asked, flustered. You could feel your cheeks heating up in embarrassment. No one ever heard you sing, you didn't let anyone listen or at least hear you open your lips to hum a certain tune or even a melody.
His sweet chuckle from the other line made your cheeks grow redder. As if that wasn't already embarrassing enough. "Yeah I did. You have a beautiful voice. C'mon, you need to sing more often."
You nervously laughed and bit your lip. "Uhm..."
"It's the first time I heard you sing actually. C'mon, sing a tune."
You stopped yourself from smiling at his compliment. You weren't going to lie, that felt great. It felt good to somehow be appreciated for the small things that you felt quite shy about. However, you were still embarrassed from earlier so you said; "No. I don't..." you cleared your throat and eyed the horizon above, "I don't sing anymore so I'm quite, y'know, rusty... and bad. Really bad." You said the last sentence in a whisper.
Unfortunately for you, Hiro heard that. "Why? I think you have a good voice. It'd be a waste if you're not singing anymore."
You let out a sad laugh, the stars twinkling in the horizon also gave you the impression that they were laughing at you too. "Well, it's just... people used to laugh at me and stuff when I do sing so like... yeah."
Utter silence from the other line.
You waited for a moment, playing with the scarf around the neck of your ukulele before you looked back at your phone to see if the line was cut off or not. Strangely, it was still connected. So he just wasn't talking...
You raised a brow, confused. "Hiro?"
"Yeah? Oh sorry. Hold on, I'm just thinking of ways to hunt that someone down," he said with a grunt from the other line.
You cracked a genuine smile, something that you really can't manage especially after recalling such a sad memory that you kept at the back of your mind, never to be remembered. You giggled a bit at his statement and sighed. "Well, what more is there to do now? I mean, I still suck at it. And like, it still is traumatizing me at this point so..."
"Look, whatever you're thinking right now— stop. You have a good voice and I would die just to listen to that again."
You couldn't help the smile breaking onto your face, the heat climbing up your cheeks, and the tears that somehow found itself up to your eyes.
"Oh you," you said with a laugh, in an attempt to push down the tears from pouring out of your eyes.
"What? It's true. Now, who ever laughed at you for singing, well, I would like to have a little chat with them. Just... just a chat," you can hear the humor in his voice and you couldn't help but keep laughing at his silly remarks.
"Is this a tactic to get me to sing to you?" You asked him, tone playfully taunting.
He hummed from the other line, "No...? Well, I'm just trying to prove my point here. What do you have against that?" You could literally hear his smile from the way he said his statement.
You shook your head, although he couldn't see you. "Nothing. Just... trying to find out the intent behind these flattering words."
"Not a single ill intention," you could hear his chuckle, "I just wanted to give you the words that you needed to hear."
"Well, how kind of you," you said with a giggle, feigning formality like that of a princess. Hiro laughed from the other line. You then let silence fall between the both of you.
You eyed the moon above —  still on her full glory. You never know what is it with the moon and the way it does always give you the feeling of safety, but here you are — basking in the comfort of her dim light, listening to the insects in the distance, and laughing without a care in the world with your friend over the phone. You also have a feeling that Hiro was also peering out of his window, eyeing the moon. You wondered for a moment if he was feeling the same as you were at that very moment — at peace.
You can picture him perched on his window sill, phone in hand and probably doing something else whilst listening to you, like what he always does.
In the midst of the silence, he called out your name. You hummed in return, telling him that you were still there, listening.
"I'm sorry."
You blinked, confused. "For what?"
"For... for everything." You could hear the defeat in his voice from the other line.
You couldn't help the sad smile. Biting your lip, you ran through the things that you wanted to say to him. But since things already happened, and there was no turning back now, you only settled on; "There's nothing to be sorry about, Hiro—"
"Look, I know I messed up big time but I..." he took a pause, as if trying to regain his composure, "I just don't want to lose you." You sighed at his statement, but nonetheless, continued to wear that same smile that you would always give him as something to assure him. But at that moment, it seemed that the emotion was directed to you — you were assuring yourself.
"Well, it's okay." It's fine. You're okay. "And I'm still here Hiro," you assured him. But as you did so, your smile slowly began to lose its emotion. There were moments that you had to put yourself aside just so you wouldn't ruin things for the both of you. It was hard, yes. But... somehow, you were fine. You just had to gather whatever courage you had for yourself and silently fight the battles that you were left alone with.
"Yeah but I... I'm still sorry."
"It's okay. I don't blame you, okay? There's absolutely nothing wrong with that. Your feelings are valid. Always. Remember that, okay?"
"I..." somehow, you could hear him battle out his own demons just judging by the tone of his voice. And there it is again, you thought to yourself. At this point, you knew how to read him as if he was an open book. He was guilty. You took a deep breath and thought of whatever you can say to him that'll somehow put him at ease.
Somehow, despite the hurt that he gave you, you still found compassion for him. You wanted to hate him for what he did, but oddly, you can never find it in yourself to loathe him. You can never find it in yourself to be angry at him entirely. You care too much. You have no idea if that is a blessing or a curse. Nonetheless, you still found words to somehow put him at ease, and you're hoping it will give him peace.
"Hey, don't be too harsh on yourself. Things happen and you shouldn't beat yourself up for it. Don't worry about me, just focus on Megan, 'kay? I'm fine. Trust me. I'll be here when you need me."
"...okay." He sighed, defeated. You smiled at that. Then silence engulfed the both of you once again. Your fingers began to feel for the strings of your ukulele, then soon, the silence was then filled by the rich melody that your hands created, soothing the heavy ambiance that somehow wiggled its way between the both of you. Little by little, there was consistency in the chords that you played, and you found yourself being pulled into that little daze that carries you anywhere but the ground, only brought forth by music. But the melody was broken when he spoke once more from the other line, causing you to stop playing.
"Sing it."
You paused. "Hmm? Sing what?"
"That. That song. You should sing it."
You paused and bit your lip. But you nonetheless followed his request. Taking a deep breath, you opened your lips to start the first few lines of the song.
"And I don't smell you in my sheets. And I don't hear you in the hall. Without your cologne, your calls on the phone, I don't know you at all..." to begin with, you had no idea why you chose this song, but it just somehow explained your side...
When you were finally told that he was dating Megan... It felt so much like a slap in the face. Somehow, at the back of your mind you were expecting that. But you never really thought of how hard that might hit you when you were finally coming face-to-face with that fact.
"And I'm growing older, I know that we're over, the way we'd always have been. And then I see you... And I know you all over again." There was never a 'thing' between the both of you, but maybe... it was just because you were secretly hoping for more. But when the chapter has to finish, and the book is coming to a close, you have no choice but to stop writing the pages and bring it all to an end.
For you.
And for him.
For your peace, and for your happiness.
Because you deserve better. You deserve so much more.
This song... somehow became your closure. With each word that you sang, you could feel everything being left behind. As if all the events that unfolded became nothing but distant dreams of yesterday's escapades. Just remnants of silly conversations, and little decisions that led to actions that felt so much like a strange fever dream. And just as it always will be — nothing more than just... that.
You know to yourself that if you wanted more, you could always gain more. But it felt like this is all where it's headed. And thus, you'll let it go.
What a waste. But what is there to throw away wherein there was nothing to waste in the first place? Nothing fruitful grew out of it, and thus, nothing will be withered away. Not a single one.
And with the final chorus, you felt your heart ache from the bittersweet feeling that you got. "And then I see you... And I know you all over again."  It felt bittersweet, because it was like saying goodbye to a million what-ifs and what-could've-beens. But what are those worth when the outcome of letting it all go is the never ending peace that you longed for in what felt like a while?
"And then I see you... And I love you all over again."
With the final strumming rhythm and with the final hums of the strings of your instrument dissipated the chaos that you have been fighting with for months on end. With the final vibrations of the melody came the silence that welcomed the peace that calmed the storm that kept raging inside your heart for months. So, this is what it felt like before.
For the first time in months, you felt as if you could finally breathe. You let yourself take a deep breath, and you could've swore that it never felt so easy. As if millions of worries were suddenly lifted from your chest and it just felt so... freeing.
You thanked the moon, the stars, the universe, and the heavens. Because finally, the chapter has ended.
And that night, you finally slept soundly on your bed.
Yet little did you know, the final words that you sang left a footprint on Hiro's heart. A tear rolled down his cheek and he couldn't help but eye the moon and question; "Why?"

Hiro Hamada x Lectora.
Advertencia: Los personajes son menores de edad.
(N) = Tu nombre o nombre de tu O´c.
........................................................................
— Hiro...
— ¡Me encanta!

Hiro + Fanfic reader/writer
Pairing(s): Hiro Hamada x Gn!Reader
Tumblr media
He obviously knows what fanfiction is
He’s always online so it’d be a surprise if he didn’t
Hiro probably found out when you casually mention liking to write and how you have a blog
Either that, or you casually mention loving to read something from a specific blog
Hiro wasn’t suspicious and fanfic didn’t immediately come to mind, he was just curious and kept asking you about it
Honestly? You lied about it. But then you started to think about why you’d even bother to lie to him of all people
He’s literally an abomination and says the most rancid, cringe things that’d put bakudeku wattpad fanfics to shame
Either those or BTS shipping fics, those are truly another kind of atrocious ai could never replicate that
The only reason you tolerate him and his cringe ass way of speaking is because he says it purely ironically
After you thought about it, you finally decided to just tell him
And the look bro gave you…
He gave you the worst stink eye bruh
Yknow that “somebody smells like shit” trend? Yea that’s his reaction to you
Lil bro is horrified
To the point he pulled out the 100 yard stare /j
Nah but fr he’s a bit weirded out cuz of karmi and her weird self…
Overall he doesn’t rlly care unless you write about his superhero persona (if u don’t know) and Or about real ppl
If that’s the case, he will give u a side eye
If that’s not the case he’ll just laugh at you being nervous to tell him
Eventually tho, he really starts to get curious and begins to pester you about what your blog/ fanfics you read
The best thing you could think of was to just ignore him
But then one faithful day you get a notification that reads-
“Fnafl0v3r6 followed you”
The horror and dread you felt was beyond me
It was honestly too late to consider blocking him, he had already liked/ reposted your fanfics, and even reposted the ones you already had
Might as well consider committing because there’s truly no coming back from them
You ignored him for so long, his messages and calls alike until you quite literally couldn’t anymore.
So finally after awhile of not seeing hiro, you meet up with him
He doesn’t say much at first but then goes on a annoying ass rant about your fanfics and how could you ignore him and i don’t even know anymore
You started ignoring him after the first five minutes
Despite not rlly liking it because of the weirdo (aka karmi and I will not tolerate anyone denying it, I will die on this hill)
He eventually decides that maybe it’s not that bad as long as no one’s getting hurt and there’s nothing weird being written.
So if you’re a writer he immediately starts stalking your page
You even start to wonder if he’s constantly refreshing because he reblogs and likes all your work
He may or may not make some weird requests under the guise of being funny (ex: Trump x Biden, Shrek x Kermit)
Anyway, the worst thing about this (aside from him doing the above) is that he’ll sneak behind you like a gremlin-
It doesn’t matter where as long as there are people in ear shot and he asks, very loudly, what fic your reading
He’s so Loud bro it’s not even funny
If cass knows you wouldn’t even be surprised, hell, if everyone in that cafe knew you wouldn’t be surprised either

Hiro Hamada Blurb :))
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
a/n: maybe a little ooc, but this wasn’t originally written for him, BUT NOW IT IS SO TEEHEE. please excuse my shitty writing it’s been a while and i don’t have that much experience in the first place
The arms around you waist tightened when you shuffled around as you were waking up. Bright beams of light shined through the blinds and straight onto your face, nearly blindly you when you opened your eyes.
“Hiro?” You threw the question up in there air and it was caught by the boy you were calling out to. “yeah [name]?”
You sighed in relief as you layed your head back down on the pillow next to you, before your stomach grumbled making Hiro chuckle before you elbowed him softly in his own.
“Let me up! I’m hungry.” You whined and his arms tightened around you again at this statement. Making it clear he didn’t want you to go anywhere, it was your guy’s time and he didn’t want anything to interrupt that.
“No,” He groaned stuffing his face into your back, and you heard a muffled “You can eat later.” The snort that left your mouth was involuntary but you couldn’t help it.. he was never this clingy.
Oh, this was a real treat.
“Aww, poor baby just wants to cuddled.” you teased knowing he hated when you acknowledged his clinginess with babying but you couldn’t help it this time, he’s just so adorable like this.
“Okay. Get off. Now.” He loosened his grip on you and proceeded to flip over on his side so you two were now back to back.
“hey c’mon, i don’t mind if you wanted to stay in bed a little longer.” You flipped over and ran your hand up his arm, stopping at his shoulder so you could run it over his back.
He could hear the smile on your face that was, to no doubt in his mind, absolutely stunning. However, there was no way Hiro was turning around right now. Not with how red his face is.
“I’ll tell you what,” you started, a shit-eating grin painting your lips. “We can go get breakfast and after we’re done we can stay in bed all day if that’s what you really want.” He nearly turned around but he stood his ground. He huffed pretending like he didn’t want anything to do with you but you both knew he did.
“Alright fine, I’ll just go.. alone.. by myself.. with no one el—“ You began to sit up but you were very caught off guard by how quickly he sat up to protest against this. “Fine.. I’ll go with you, but only because your sooooo lonely.” He shot an award-winning smile at you and entangled your fingers with his.
“Let’s go make something, honey.”
———————————————————————
a/n: hope you liked it!! this has been sitting in my drafts for a while i just didn’t know how to finish it so the ending is kinda shitty LMAO

Well. I tried to get some nice aesthetic photos of my Kalluzeb kids because I'm trying to get a print of them for an upcoming project. Unfortunately the lighting was NOT working with me. But I did still get a couple of good shots. And while I was at it I took a picture of all my Star Wars Rebels fanbabies!
(List of the kids, starting in the back row left to right (with parents in parenthesis): Lacey (Yogar Lyste/OC husband, Andrew); Lira, Sylvia, Elim, Luna (Alexsandr Kallus/Garazeb Orrelios); Dawn (Hera Syndula/Kanan Jarrus); Callie (daughter of Kallus' cousin, adopted by Kallus and Zeb); Hope, Dev (Ezra Bridger/Hiro Hamada)
Tumblr media
The pic I've decided to go with for my project--when in doubt, I use my Disney castle backdrop XD
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And you may have noticed a new face in the crowd--this is Dawn Jarrus, my Kanera fanbaby :) (A long time ago I saw at least one person using that name for their Kanera fanbaby, I'm not sure who started it but I've always loved it 💙) And yes, I did manage to find her a tiny Chopper who I've decided to name Chopper Jr :)

Sakura hummed in thought as she raised the pieces or more like the remains of a dummy out of a box. Taking a deep breath she shouted over her shoulder. "Uncle James! Do we need to keep the dummy we used for target practice?"
"No! Toss it out!" He called back to her from the other room. The eleven year old shrugged before quickly closing the box and tossing it away.
THUD!
As she moved to the second to last box her guardian entered the room carrying a black gym bag. Placing it in a growing pile of 'Useful Items' as dubbed by them both he turned to her. "Sakura! I found the laser tag guns!"
Without looking up from where she was sifting through the CDs in the box she nodded. "Good! We can play later!"
James hummed in reply as he surveyed the room. "Hopefully they still work!" He was in the process of picking up the umbrella stand and place it near the door when the girl called out.
"Uncle James! Do we really need to keep all these magazines of trucks?" The man snapped around to look at her, then shook his head before
"Hey! I let you keep your superhero magazines don't I?" He said. He heard the girl sigh in exasperation.
"Comics, Uncle James! They are called comics. And they are awesome and classic!" Her god-father looked up from where he was collecting his magazines from the floor.
"Well my Trucks are classic for me!" He shot back, stacking the magazines and dumping them on the shelf. The girl placed her hands on her hips where she was sitting.
"At least throw out the old ones. They're falling apart!" James narrowed his eyes at the eleven year old.
"Don't you dare touch them Sakura! Or I will burn your poster of that guy wearing tights!" He watched in satisfaction as her eyes widened a little, before she humphed and turned back to her box.
"His name is Nightwing Uncle James! And he is not wearing tights. He's wearing a spandex!" She said her voice taking on a haughty tone as she talked. Her god-father smirked.
"What is he gay!?"
A laugh escaped him as he caught sight of the furious expression on his charge's face.
"Uncle James!"
He continued to laugh while Sakura huffed as she tossed another single sock she had found in the box she had been sifting through.
"Really Uncle James! How many single socks do you own?"
"Blame the elves alright! They hide them from me."
Sakura rolled her eyes as she tossed aside her empty box and turned to another.
"Is that really your excuse?"
James frowned as he pushed at a book shelf, trying to set it against the wall.
"Don't you start!" He snapped, his voice strained as he pushed. Sighing at her god-father's excuse the eleven year old got up.
"I'm gonna go bring in the last of the boxes." She called over her shoulder. The dance instructor only replied with a grunt as he pushed the bookshelf in its place.
                                          ————————–
It had been almost a month since the day James had told Sakura about her parents. It had been a very difficult time for them. James had not found himself enjoying his dance lessons and for the first time in over fifteen years he was completely friendless.
And then there had been the funeral.
God the funeral!
The empty caskets.
The few people.
The meaningless consolations.
Those purple eyes with the haunted look in them.
He was just as effected but not as effected as the daughter.
After the funeral Sakura went about her daily life like nothing had happened. She went to school every morning, ate and slept, did her homework and projects in time.
But that was all she did.
As soon as she got home she would usually lock herself in her room for almost and hour or two. She stopped dancing. She even stopped reading the thick volumes of Robotics History like she always did. There was a vacant look in her eyes and she would just sit on the couch staring into nothing.
Sometimes, when James got home the TV would be on, with a robotic documentary of some sort with the girl staring at it in an almost mechanical way. Usually when James couldn't find her in the mornings he would go check the apartment next to his and see Sakura curled up in her parents bed, her cheeks stained with tear tracks, clutching a pillow to her chest. She refused to go inside the apartment during the day and James usually carried her back to her room in his apartment. Even though she ate as much as she was able to her face still had a slightly gaunt look. There were bags beneath her eyes and her usually large purple eyes seemed larger on her small face.
James had started to worry about her. But he didn't know what he could do. So he had just tried to be there for her. Just as he had promised. And just how Cass Hamada had advised him. Making sure she ate properly and coming in to tuck her in every night and kiss her goodnight. Sitting with her for two hours at times while she stared at the television withe the Documentary playing out. He would usually fall asleep at times, during the show and would wake up to find his god-daughter gone and a blanket draped over him. One day he had left a piece of chocolate at the kitchen counter, just like her dad used to. When he got back from work the chocolate piece was still there but it was in half. She would take a bite and than leave the other half for her father and she had done the same with him.
He had received an angelic smile from her that day.
And she had been in high spirits the whole of the next two days as well. But the most change in her came two weeks later.
After two weeks the eleven year old had asked him during breakfast when they were moving into the new apartment above their new Studio. He had been taken aback by the sudden question. For a full two minutes he had stared at the girl who had stared right back before he had shook his head and had told her that he would get to it that morning. They had sold his apartment as well as her parents.
He had seen the look in her eyes when she had signed the contract that broke the lease for the apartment. It had been her home. What he didn't know was that the girl was thinking nothing of the sort.
The apartment had not felt like her home since her parents had died. It felt emptier and she had not liked it at all. Maybe it was best to move in a new place where nothing would remind her of her parents every time she entered a room.
So here they were. New apartment. New neighborhood.
                                          ————————–
She had just stepped out of the Studio when she caught sight of a familiar face on the pavement on the other side of the road.
Tadashi.
Scratch that, two familiar faces.
Hiro was with him as well, bouncing on his feet as he went his voice carrying itself with the wind making Sakura smile at the excitement and happiness it carried. She had not seen the brothers or their aunt in almost a month but it was rather hard for her to forget about either of them. They had been complete strangers but even then they had all helped her out in a way she had never thought.
Especially Cass Hamada and Tadashi. She had been meaning to go over and thank them for their help, and return the clothes she had borrowed from them, which she had washed and ironed herself and folded neatly to return when she could. But since the moving she had not had the time.
She would now….
Suddenly as if he were sensing someone was looking at him, Tadashi looked up. Their eyes met and he stopped walking, pulling his brother to a halt as well. His face was emotionless at first and so was hers. But that changed when she lifted her hand in a wave and the corner of her mouth lifted in a small smile.
Tadashi smiled at her as well and waved back. Hiro looked to where his brother was waving, and even from where Sakura stood she could see his little face light up under his mop of untidy hair as he waved at her energetically. Suddenly feeling slightly braver Sakura motioned with her hand telling them to come over. Tadashi gripped Hiro's hand tightly as he walked the last few steps to the curve where the pavement ended and carefully started to cross the road.
Meanwhile Sakura grunted as she lifted the last box from right outside the Studio entrance doors.
Why did she have to have such thick books?
She had just managed to get a good grip on the box when her fingers slipped and the box landed on her foot with an almost sickening crunch.
Why did she have to wear flip flops that day?!
Her books were spilled out everywhere and her lips pursed shut as she screamed, her eyes squeezing shut involuntarily. Of course the scream was muffled but was nothing compared to the pain in her foot that she now clutched.
"Are you alright?"
She opened her eyes, blurred by a few tears of pain. She could only see a blurry figure standing a few feet away from her. Waving her hand she tried putting her foot on the ground.
"No, its alright I've got i-OUCH!" As soon as she had placed her weight on her foot pain had shot up her leg and she had lifted her foot letting it dangle in the air while balancing herself on one leg. She looked up seeing a familiar pair of brown eyes look down at her questioningly, she smiled sheepishly.
"I guess you could help."
Tadashi only smiled as he picked up a couple of books. Still bouncing on her good foot Sakura pushed the door open as the boy carried them inside the Studio. Sakura hobbled after him, with little Hiro at her side, gripping her arm making sure she would not fall.
"So do you often injure yourself or was that an accident?" Tadashi asked as he deposited his armful of books at the reception desk right near the entrance. Sakura groaned as she placed her foot on the floor again, only to pick it up again, as she plopped down on one of the waiting benches for the parents.
"Gee! I wander what gave me away." She rolled her eyes, a small smile playing across her lips, despite the pain.
"Thakura look it! Look it!" Hiro pulled at the sleeve of her shirt to get the older girl's attention. She smiled at him as he stood in front of her.
"Yes Hiro? What is it?" The little boy looked at her and smiled, showing the gap between his two front teeth. He pointed at the gap.
"I lothd my tfooth." He lisped not being able to say the 's' or the 'o' properly due to the gap. Sakura gasped.
"Oh my Hiro! This means that you're all grown up." Hiro grinned at her as his older brother dropped a pile of books next to them.
"Yeah! And the toofth fffairy came at night and lefft a quarterf under my pillow." He said fishing out a shiny quarter from his pocket. Sakura giggled as the child showed her his little treasure.
"Its very shiny Hiro." She nodded. Hiro grinned at her when suddenly his eyes snapped towards the book pile next to the eleven year old.
"Robothsh!" Sakura and Tadashi both turned to look at the book that had caught the attention of the little boy. Sakura smiled as she pulled the book out.
"Yes Hiro! This is a book about ever machine that has ever been made. Its why its called Robots." She held up the book in front of her to show the little boy. Hiro's brown eyes widened with excitement.
"Can I look at it?" Sakura had only opened her mouth to reply when Tadashi cut her off.
"Hiro! What do we say when we want something?" His tone was stern, or as stern as it could get with his younger brother. Hiro huffed, a little whistling sound escaping from between the gap in his teeth.
"Can I look at the book Thakura? Pleath?" Tadashi nodded in approval while Sakura just handed over the book to the little boy who grabbed it and promptly sat down right where he was standing to look at it.
"I didn't know you were interested in robots."
Sakura looked up at him where he stood next to her, smiling. She shrugged.
"My parents both worked in the field." At the mention of her parents her heart clenched painfully but she ignored it as she continued. "Guess I picked it up with all the books lying around huh?" She grinned.
Tadashi looked at her, his head tilted slightly. Sakura looked back at him.
"What?"
The boy shrugged.
"Nothing. Just this is the first time I've heard a girl say she likes robots!" Sakura pursed her lips as she scowled.
"Well that's because most girls like to stay inside and play with their dolls." She said shuddering with disgust.
"Where's the fun in that? Its way more fun to get your hands dirty with all the motor oil!" She said almost gleefully looking up at the boy.
"I have ten Make your own Robots Kit! And all of them are the original editions too!"
Tadashi seemed to perk up at what she was saying his eyes shining with disbelief.
"You've got the tenth edition as well?" He exclaimed. Sakura nodded proudly.
"Yup! And it has all the new features in it! And you get to build the remote control as well and decide what features your robot will have!"
Tadashi's eyes widened. "Woah!" He muttered. Suddenly Sakura seemed to get an idea.
"Hey! I haven't opened mine yet! We could both build it together if you want!" Tadashi's cheeks hurt from the huge smile he gave but right now he didn't care.
"Really?! That would be so cool!"
Sakura grinned.
"Is it alright with your aunt if I come over though?" She asked a bit tentatively. She didn't want to go where she would disturb somebody. Tadashi only shook his head.
"No! Its alright. Aunt Cass wouldn't mind. Why don't we meet up this Saturday in the afternoon?" He said eagerly. Sakura nodded.
"Sure! I'll meet you at the cafe then?"
Tadashi grinned. "Awesome!" He suddenly seemed to catch sight of the clock hanging on the wall ticking away. He checked his own watch.
"Uh oh! We gotta head home now! Come on Hiro!" He said yanking on his brother's arm who was still too immersed in his book to notice anything. Hiro pouted as he got up and closed the book.
"You can keep the book Hiro!" Sakura offered. Hiro's little face lit up at the permission.
"Thankth Thakura!" He said hugging the book to his little chest. "I'll keep it thafe. I promith!" Sakura only smiled as the little boy turned, opening the book again and started riffling through it, trying to find the page he had been last.
"Hey Sakura?" The eleven year old to turned to look at the older boy looking at her rather nervously.
"Erm...A-are you ok now?" He blurted out. Sakura could see genuine concern in those brown eyes so she smiled, a bit sadly, yet smiled nonetheless.
"Yeah!" She nodded, crossing her arms across her chest. "I'm fine Tadashi. Thank you." Tadashi smiled at her as well.
"Tadathi! Leth go!" His older brother shook his head at the impatience in his voice and walked after him as he stood at the entrance, holding the door open.
"Tadashi?" The eleven year old turned to look at the girl looking at him, biting down on her lips nervously.
"I-I just wanted to say thanks." Her cheeks turned red only slightly, as she licked her lips nervously. "For, you know, hugging me when I was crying."
Tadashi could feel his ears and cheeks burn at the memory that suddenly sprang up in his mind. He only shrugged as he quickly smiled at her.
"Anytime Sakura." The girl looked up her eyes shining with confusion. As if realizing what he had just said Tadashi's cheeks flushed red and he quickly yanked his little brother out with him.
As he led his little brother down the street towards the cafe he wandered what kind of a friend would she be if they ever did become friends. He wanted to be friends with her. She had helped his brother out and she was interested in Robots as well, which was very rare to find because there were only a few children who took interest in them.
Meanwhile Sakura was picking up her books and walking up the stairs to her room. But she was thinking something along the lines of what the boy was thinking at the moment as well. But her thoughts were being processed due to another reason.
'Anytime Sakura!'
Did that mean he wanted to be friends with her?
                                          ————————–
Sakura frowned as she wiped her hands on her jeans. Glancing at the boy sitting next to her she nudged him to get his attention. He looked up at her.
"Could you pass me the screw driver?" Hiro nodded as he, nudged his brother.
"Tadadthi! Thcredriwer, pleath!" He lisped. His older brother handed over the tool, without looking up from his little project. Hiro gave Sakura a toothy grin as he handed her the tool. Sakura smiled at the younger boy. As soon as the girl had taken the object Hiro turned back to his task, his tiny brow creased in concentration. Sakura hummed once under her breath than began to turn the slot into its place as per the instructions.
Or what was left of the instructions anyway.
As soon as the girl had opened her Robot-Making Kit Tadashi as well as Hiro had called dibs on the parts they wanted to make. Tadashi took over the torso of the robot while Hiro grabbed the legs saying he wanted to make rockets out of them. Sakura had gone for making the remote control.
Tadashi had to build the entire torso of the robot, give it the features he wanted it to have. The torso had a lot of features. Laser from the eyes and the hands, karate chop, blades from the elbows and for fun it could spin its head as well. Tadashi had set to work on assembling the torso as soon as he had collected all his pieces.
Hiro had grabbed the legs of the robot and plopped down in between Tadashi and Sakura, his little finger working and moving expertly as he picked up tools and assembled the legs plus the features into them. Jet boots, round house kicks, blades from the knees and feet and for fun the legs also had the feature where it could tap dance. Hiro was attracted to the fact that he would get to assemble rocket boots and he had immediately gone for the legs.
Sakura was left making the remote control. Her job was to put together the remote control for their robot and make sure that the command fro each feature was perfectly aligned with the signal the remote was going to give out. Sakura was having fun reading all the frequencies from her part of the instructions and programming them into the remote.
Each child was sifting through their own set of instructions from the manual they had found included in the box. The book had been ripped and divided according to the sections and the three children had gotten to work. All three of them had decided to give the robot all of the features that were included in the box. It seemed more challenging and more exciting that way.
Two hours later the three of them were found sitting on a bench with a long table placed in front of them with Hiro in the middle of the two older children, inside the Hamada's garage. The only sound that came from them was the occasional noise from the specific task they were doing. Other than borrowing something from the other the three children had not talked much in the last two hours. They sat their in a companionable silence as they worked.
And that was exactly how Aunt Cass found them when she into the garage to check on them.
She was carrying a tray with a plate of sandwiches on them and three glasses of juice. A smile came over her as she placed the tray on a spare box in the slightly messy garage and called out.
"Alright my little geniuses take a break!" She laughed softly when all three children jumped at her voice.
"Oh Aunt Cass! We didn't hear you come in!" The woman smiled at her older nephew, not pointing out the oil streak on his cheek.
"Obviously Tadashi. Honestly I think this is the quietest I have seen you and Hiro given your daily shouts and fights." Tadashi and Hiro both looked up at her smiling sheepishly. Sakura wiped her hands on the front of her jeans as she stood up. Cass looked at the young girl as she took of her cap, placing it on Hiro's head playfully pushing it down. The girl looked so much better than the last time she had seen her. Her eyes seemed to have gained their shine back and she looked healthier and the gaunt look was almost gone.
Cass couldn't help but think that maybe if she hung out with Tadashi and Hiro she would be able to get past her grief easily. She hoped it would come to that. Cass Hamada always had hypersensitive motherly instincts. Whenever she saw a child or a teenager sad or in some form of trouble she would try and help them out as much as she could. They always seemed to remind them of herself when she had been their age and had lost her mother.
Scared.
Lost.
Frightened.
Confused.
Helping Sakura had been another matter. The older woman had been able to find an instant connection with her considering she had known what the other girl had been feeling at the time and had wanted to help as much as she could.
Seeing the girl laugh and playfully dodge Hiro's attempt at punching her she was glad that she had.
Spotting something on Hiro's finger Cass frowned.
"Hiro? What happened to your finger?" The little boy stopped in his attempts to punch Sakura and looked at his aunt then at his bandaged finger.
"I cuth my finger, Aunth Cath!" He said, a smile on his face.
"Thakura thays that I'm gonna geth a really cool thcar fffrom it!" The older woman's gaze turned to the girl who smiled sheepishly and shrugged.
"I had to get him to stop crying." She explained. Tadashi stepped in.
"Don't worry Aunt Cass. We cleaned it up and everything." He waved his hand towards a small stool where a first aid box was placed. His aunt nodded before pushing forward the sandwich tray a bit.
"Take a little break and eat. All three of you. Oh! And Sakura! Your godfather called. He said that he would come pick you around four alright."
The girl nodded, not being able to reply as her mouth was full. Cass smiled one last time at all three children before she walked out of the garage. Taking a small sip from her glass of orange juice Sakura glanced at the two boys, wolfing down the sandwiches beside her.
"So how far are we with our projects?" She asked, taking another bite of her sandwich. Tadashi wiped his mouth with the back of his hand as he set his glass of juice down on the tray.
"I'm almost done. Just gotta add the spinning head feature and thats it." Sakura nodded, just as Hiro began to speak.
"And I juth have to make thure that the boothsh are working." He went to pick up the second to last sandwich. Tadashi pushed the last sandwich towards Sakura. The girl smiled before picking it up breaking it in half and offering one half to the boy who took it with a small grin.
"And I'm almost done with the remote. So I guess we'll be finished in a little while." She glanced at her wrist to check the time. "Good thing too! We have an hour and then I have to leave." She dusted her hands to get rid of the crumbs as Tadashi walked back to his side of the bench.
"Shouldn't take long then." He said as he picked up a bolt and carefully began to screw it into the neck of the robot. The robot was all grey in color and had plates over its body to hide the mechanism underneath. The three children were following the instructions just as they were written out but they hadn't needed that much help from it.
Tadashi knew which part went where as he had assembled robots before with all his kits. Hiro had seen his brother do it a hundred times and Sakura had read so many book and had seen her father do these things in front of her that she knew how to read a frequency and feed it into the remote. All three of them began their respective tasks intent on finishing them.
Fifteen minutes later Hiro held up his robot legs, grinning from ear to ear.
"Finith!" Sakura looked up at the small boy her eyes wide with amazement.
"Are you some kind of a genius or something Hiro?"
Hiro frowned in though, shaking his head.
"Don't think tho! But Tadathi thays that I am thmart!" He said grinning proudly as his brother nodded behind him.
"He is smarter than the average kid Sakura. I can tell you that." The girl shook her head, smiling is disbelief.
"Alright then! You're a genius kid!" She grinned at the little boy, before turning back to her remote. Screwing the last screw in place she held it up.
"Done! Now all I need are a couple of batteries."
Tadashi nodded where he was joining the torso of the robot to the legs with Hiro's help.
"They were included in the box. Hiro go get them." His brother nodded before scampering off to get the batteries. Sakura cleared a place at the table by sweeping her hand and pushing away the extra pieces and the tools they had been using. Tadashi placed the robot on the table, just as Hiro returned gripping the two batteries in his little fingers. Taking the batteries Sakura placed them inside the remote and placed it next to the robot.
Looking at their little creation the three children glanced at each other, identical excited smiles on their faces.
"Leth do thith!" Hiro said, his voice high with excitement as he reached for the remote. His brother however had other ideas.
"Wait Hiro! Aunt Cass asked me to take a picture first." As he spoke he fished out a camera from the pocket of the hoodie he was wearing. Sakura glanced at Tadashi who still had an oil streak on his cheek, then at Hiro who's face was blackened from where the rocket boots and spewed smoke out of them, and she knew that she looked no better with her hair falling out of its ponytail.
But she couldn't have cared less.
"Why would she do that?" She wandered out loud. Tadashi looked up from where he was adjusting the camera.
"It's like that with all the things Hiro and I have invented before." He explained as he walked over to a fallen stool and picked it up before placing the camera on the stool where it began to blink a little red light. The boy ran back to his brother and his new friend. Scooping up Hiro he placed him on the bench. Hiro, now standing at both the older children's height, wrapped a tiny arm each around their shoulders as he grinned at the camera. Sakura grinned at the little gesture as she wrapped her own arm around Hiro's waist. Tadashi did the same thing at the same time and neither of them had a chance to retract their arms as the flash of the camera went off at the exact moment capturing the little moment.
Quickly retracting their arms Sakura glanced down at the floor, twisting a stray strand of her hair, suddenly feeling shy. She quickly glanced up to see Tadashi look her way at the same time, his hand rubbing the back of his neck. Both eleven year olds smiled shyly and nervously at each other. Hiro who hadn't seemed to notice anything wrong with the two older children was making sure that everything was in order. Suddenly he scrambled off his seat and ran for the door of the garage as fast as his little legs could carry him.
Tadashi frowned at his brother's retreating back.
"Hiro! Where you going?" The little boy didn't even look back as he answered.
"I need thomething! I'll be righth back!" With that the boy was out the door. Sakura glanced at Tadashi who only shrugged in response. Sakura offered a small smile as she too turned to check the robot standing on the table.
Tadashi swallowed nervously as he tried not to fidget where he stood. For some reason it had been eating him on the inside and he knew that as soon as he would say it he would get it over and done with.
But how to bring it on?
"Hey Sakura?"
"Yeah?"
He would be cool and calm about it. Bring it up in the conversation casually. He took a tiny step forward and opened his mouth to say something, anything to start a conversation.
"Ireallylikeyouandwannabefriendswithyou!"
No! No! That wasn't supposed to come out just yet!
As Tadashi panicked Sakura looked up at him, surprised at what she had heard. Or had tried to hear anyway. Either way she had heard what he had said. A light blush dusted her cheeks and she started to play with the loose strand of her hair again.
Both children were quite for a few second, looking at one another, Sakura in surprise while Tadashi looked nervous, biting down on his lip. After a few short second the girl smiled.
"I like you too Tadashi." She giggled when she saw the boy's ears turn red at the tips. Walking forward she stopped till she was a couple of inches away from him. "And I would like to be friends too."
Tadashi gave a wide grin, as he released the breath he did not know he had been holding. He really did want Sakura do be his friend. She was the first girl who liked making robots and playing with them just as he did. Not to mention she had helped Hiro out. Which meant that she was a nice person.
Sakura grinned at the boy. She liked Tadashi. He didn't make fun of her like all the other boys at her school, who made fun of her just because she liked to play with robots as well. They never let her play with them. But Tadashi had let her play with him and his brother.
These little things might've seemed meaningless to most adults. But Tadashi and Sakura were just children and to children small matters like these were a rather big deal. For Tadashi who had always been keeping his little brother out of trouble had taken the first chance he had of making a friend who he knew was protective like him. While Sakura who had always been something of an outcast when it came to other children was offered friendship by a boy who had said that he liked her. Though they would never realize these little facts, even when they grew up, but they would just look back on this day and see it as when two lonely and unique children became friends.
"Alrighth! We have all thigned the roboth!" Hiro turned to look at the two older children, a black permanent marker in his hand. They had all, on Hiro's insistence signed on the robot, well Tadashi and Sakura had simply written their names. Hiro's name was a mass of squiggly lines placed together to form his name. Nevertheless the child was proud of his accomplishment.
"Leth fly thith thing!" He whooped as he grabbed the remote and pushed it towards his brother. Tadashi cast a sideways glance at his new friend who only smiled and nodded. It was after all her toy so he had to ask permission. Grinning the elven year old turned the knob slowly. The robot seemed to respond to his command as it turned his head in a complete circle.
"Ith workthf!" Hiro shouted throwing his arms in the air. Sakura felt a smile overtake her face.
"Lets see if this thing can fly!" Tadashi said as he hit the required buttons. Immediately the robot made a small sputtering sound and the rockets under the boots activated. The robot began to levitate.
"It works! You're a genius Hiro!" The black haired girl exclaimed as she threw her arms around the younger boy and hugging him tightly. Hiro grumbled.
"Thakura! Leth go!" The girl only laughed and ruffled his hair as she let him go. Looking up at Tadashi she grinned as he grinned back. Seeing him hold up his hand, she reached forward giving him a high five as well.
                                          ————————–
Half an hour later.
"Uh oh..."
"Woopthsh?"
"Get down!"
BOOM!
Peeking from behind the table they had taken refuge, eyes wide with astonishment and faces smeared with the blackness of the smoke, the three children looked at the remaining parts of what had been the robot, which were still smoking slightly. They all glanced at each other.
"Maybe next time we shouldn't put in all the features of the robot at once." Tadashi suggested.
Sakura gave a firm nod of her head. "And read the instructions carefully and thoroughly as well." She said, glancing at the remains of the instruction manual.
"And get a fffire exthinguither!" The two older children turned to look at the younger boy who only shrugged.
"Thomething mighth catctht fffire nexth time!" He said, shrugging slightly. Tadashi and Sakura glanced at each other briefly before bursting into laughter. They couldn'thelp it. Hiro had said it in such a serious tone and their whole stupidity had seemed to catch up to them. As they lay on the floor laughing, and clutching at their stomachs, Hiro looked at them in bewilderment. Shaking his head at their antics the little boy sighed.
"Grown upths!"

Blood Runs Hot
Tumblr media
For anyone familiar with my previous posts related to big hero 6, I have a 1shots book in progress on another account (link and or account name provided to those who ask). So if you want, here’s some angst.
Before anyone reads this chapter, I understand that I’m like really late to the game or whatever. And by that, I mean that I understand that Big Hero 6 as well as its characters belong to Disney and Marvel respectively.  And the fact that it came out in 2014.
However, as of recently. I’ve become obsessed. To the point of watching the film at least once a week, typically every other day if I can, quoting specific moments a little too perfectly, and having the ability to notice things nobody else would make connections to without my outside knowledge. I’ve watched the movie loads. The Baymax series is a great 6 episode spin off. And the BH6 series is something I’m currently watching. Baymax dream shorts are funny, and I’ll soon get to the mini-series.
As for my stories, please be prepared for many levels of angst. Each Chapter, unless mentioned, will have no relations to the chapter or AU before it. Or the characters (canon character do not apply to the information) and will typically follow the canon plot line with minor details absent or changed. Some will have Tadashi alive, a discovery that takes place after the movie. And sometimes the movie just plays out as normal. As always, I fully recommend watching at the least the movie before diving into this book. But I hope you enjoy it regardless.
And as always, any characters continuously used, unless said otherwise, belong to marvel and Disney. Such as. Hiro Hamada, Tadashi, Baymax, Cass, Mochi, Fred, Wasabi, Honeylemon, Gogo, Judy, Krei, Yama, Callaghan, and Abigail. As well as characters from the series like, Granville, Obake, Karmi, Megan, Noodle Burger boy, Globby, Felony Carl, Momokase, Liv Amara and Diane/Di Amara, Minimax, Richardson Mole, Barron von Steamer, supersonic sue, and others.
-> Basically, any names you don’t recognize, probably belong to one of the many OCs I have planned for this book. I also like last names, so look out for that.
A few more things before I start the book. Most are 1shots, and few have multiple parts. As many as 6 possible parts and as few as 1. For the sake of 1shots. Each chapter will be properly titled, in a way that doesn’t say too much, summarized through a series of tabs, given an Angst rating of 1-10 as the book title suggests, and then the ending will contain room for a quote, an authors note, the word count; room for suggestions of later chapters, and a goodbye with a nickname that relates to this book specifically.
[ Blood Runs Hot: Big Hero 6, Angst, Angst shot, Hiro Hamada, Fredrick (Fred) Fredrickson, Fredmelion, Tadashi has past, Set slightly after movie Au, regrets, fire, adrenaline, loss, catching up with mentality, fears, anxiety, 6 out of 10, reminders, hiro realizes he’s not a fan of fire, regrets Fred’s costume, weirdly wise words]
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Hiro Hamada is an Idiot. Well, technically, he’s a genius. But for the moment, he’s feeling really stupid. Like big time. Air had become harder to breath since he realized. The fire…
And he started ignoring all his friends. His phone still pinged with unread messages. Buzzing from his desk as he simply laid in bed. A relapse. Of the depressive rut he had been thrown into when Tadashi died.
Well it was back full force.
Ever since the adrenaline wore off…
Hiro had realized something. Something fairly important. And now that his brain has fully registering what all of this means. That this was pretty much his fault. He couldn’t take it. Couldn’t face his friends.
God damnit! He really let himself get this far. This far. Blindly. Without sight. Why had he gotten so angry? It was all back to the fire. Fire. All of it.
Honeylemon had left him multiple messages. Majority of them asking if he was okay or if he wanted to talk. “Hiro. We all love you Hiro. I’m not the only one who’s worried. Please talk to us about this. I’m sure we can solve whatever it is.” That one message spoke to him.
He wasn’t actually reading the messages. Never even opened the app. Just skimming the texts as the notifications appeared on the screen of his phone. Hiro sped his way through Gogo’s messages next. A surprising amount of concern showing through the few messages the girl sent. Phrases such as how worried honey is. How he doesn’t have to deal with it alone. How Callaghan was in jail. To stop beating himself up. And “Whatever it is kid, you’ve got us to talk to.”
That one caused him to tear up. Like it was clawing at his chest. His breathe came out in stutters. Hiro blinked past the water in his eyes, how it tickled his cheeks and wetted his eyelashes. How it bubbled up in his throat as a barely strangled sob. He went on to Wasabi’s messages. Kind ones. About spaces and time. Hugs and coping. Hiro laughed when Wasabi had said he could throw things through his laser induced plasma. “Maybe cutting things up inti thin little pieces will make you feel better. The apple was pretty cool” the man even went as far as to recommend a therapist, at least an online one he could message, to help him through this.
Hiro blinked and looked around his room. Empty. Silence aside from his crying. Cass was downstairs giving him his space. But he really just wanted a hug. Hiro glanced at his phone and then turned to watch as his hand almost uncontrollably fished around in his pocket. The decision ti do so, not within his memory. Tadashi’s chip. Green and gold. Tiny wires and circuit boards. And the little smile face with the stethoscope. Baymax.
Hiro wanted a hug. From Cass would be nice. Baymax would be awesome. But that marshmallow doctor robot wasn’t with Hiro to hug him and pat his head saying “There there”. But most of all, Hiro just wanted Tadashi. Not just to see him in dreams or night mares or memories. As an angel or a ghost. Even as some sort of weird hallucination. Hiro at this point doesn’t care how real any of it is. But he knows he doesn’t wanna wake up from it, and barely remember a thing.
Hiro blames himself. For Tadashi’s death. Maybes two weeks earlier, Tadashi had been trying to keep Hiro out of the bot fights. Hiro had gotten locked up in jail for a night and Cass had gotten him and Tadashi, poor Tadashi had been roped into Hiro’s mess, in the late hours of the evening. Cass had told them off and Tadashi had done his job as the older brother and gave him some wise words. Hiro had tried to go to another bot fight. His third that night. Tadashi had tried, to get a point into his little brother’s brain. Hiro wasn’t listening. And he fell for Tadashi’s trick. Hiro met new people, and he learned of his opportunities. But if he never did bot fighting. If he never made his product based off of megabot. If he never made those stupid microbots. A way for the villain to survive the fire. Tadashi went to save the bad guy. Like he always did. But he clearly never knew that Hiro was also among the villains. Clearly. Or Hiro would never would have added fire to the fight. Why did he have to get so angry?
Why hadn’t he thought to put up more fight with Fred? Hiro basically turned the blonde into an alien-dragon. A flame thrower. And Hiro’s blood felt like it was boiling. Self pity bubbling through hiss veins. As he sit in his bed, disgusted with himself,  teeth clenched and hot tears running down his face. Hiro was sick of himself.
But he can’t be mad at Fred. He’d been selfish and angry. Blind. Crazy. So sure that somehow, taking down Callaghan would bring back Tadashi. Hiro had been running on an adrenaline high when he made the hero suits. Hiro had been made that Tadashi was gone. That his brother was trying to be the hero. Tadashi was a good guy. But for some reason in all of his selfish anger, Hiro never saw the red of the flames that caused Tadashi’s demise in the first place. Hiro blames himself. He never should have made Fred a superhero flamethrower. But Hiro was now scared of the flames.
Hiro can’t blame Fred. Or really himself at this point. Hiro has the rights to be upset. Maybe even upset with himself. But it won’t fix anything. Or change the past. letting his emotions bottle up and over flow worked so well last time. His blood ran hot. And then cold. Like his own body temperature was fighting with him. It sucked. He could cry. And scream. And sob. And nothing would happen anyways. Being upset wasn’t the answer. The fire didn’t really take Tadashi away. Hiro had just given up on the fact that he was still there. He knows there will always be living parts of Tadashi. Nothing would do much good. But Hiro could try to do better. So he went ahead and messaged Fred back.
“We have to talk”
It was a short and simple message. Hiro saw that Fred had read it. Fred would surely tell the others. That’s okay. He was ready. This would be his confession.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• Quote: What Fire does not destroy, it hardens -Oscar Wild •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• Authors note: Hey guys. As I said earlier, I understand that I was late when I decided “Hey, I wanna write BH6 FanFiction!” And as always it was made into an angst. I hope to post every Thursday, my time, and I hope you will enjoy these future chapters. As of now, I have over 100 summaries of chapters and ideas. This, in the beginning, was what I hoped to be a shorter book, maybe 60 chapters at most. But it’s easy to see this will likely end up with double. So I hope you can bare with me for as long as this book takes.
Many thanks. Feel free to leave suggestions here:
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• Word count(including basically everything above): 1711 Hope you liked the chapter Microbots (it’s a nickname) see y’a next chapter! Post date/quotev:  Thursday September • 21st • 2023

Tadashi Hamada Fanfiction (Big Hiro 6) - Chapter 10
Tumblr media
It's been two months.
He hasn't heard anything from you.
Every day he stops by your dorm, but it's become apparent that you aren't there. It is the beginning of the summer break, so of course it's not weird that you're gone. At least not to your institute. But Tadashi knows better.
SFIT was in the works of being rebuilt, so the school had shifted most of its classes to another location while they did construction. He feels more at ease, being with his family is just what he needs.
But the hole in his heart won't go away. Because now he's convinced that you aren't coming back. That you've done something to bring him back and it's cost more than you bargain for. That's why he's standing here as his last resort.
The shrine he approaches is the best he can come up with.
Spirits, guardians, what better place to look.
It feels a little ridiculous in his head.
"I know this sounds crazy, it feels crazy. It's doubtful that this place has some kind of supernatural energy. I need to see her. Please!"
There was no reply, not that he expected one. He removed his hat, looking at the ground.
"This...this isn't what I wanted.."
His actions had consequences. By risking his own safety, he'd put so many more in danger. Everyone he cared about had been a wreck when they thought he'd died. His family, friends. His intention was never to take it for granted, but he did.
He was arrogant to think he could just storm into a flaming building and be of any help. Maybe he was still dwelling on the past. Trying to make up for the parents he couldn't save. He was still a child back then, but he never forgot about it.
"I didn't want to lose you."
His eyes shoot up at the voice in his head.
"(Y/N)..."
Those eyes, even in the form of a wolf he could spot them anywhere.
The white fur was as beautiful as he remembered. He smiled, despite the tears that started rushing down his face. He'd been so convinced that you were gone. That you sacrificed your life for his.
"She cannot return to you."
The bigger wolf that stepped out from behind you had Tadashi a bit more guarded. The deep voice of the person that spoke startled him.
"She has compromised her duties to save you, a mere mortal. What makes you so great?"
Whoever this was, he wasn't someone to mess with. Tadashi stayed completely still.
You hadn't moved from your spot, eyes low.
"You don't deserve her."
"I DO!!"
Arguing probably wasn't the brightest idea, but he hated it. The way this guardian was trying to diminish his feelings.
"You're probably just using her for power, mortals are so selfish."
"I LOVE HER!!"
The yell had an immediate effect. Your ears shot upwards, and Tadashi finally moved closer.
"I love you..I don't want to lose you either (Y/N)."
The bigger wolf glanced between the both of you, turning back as he licked the top of your head.
"I'll be watching you mortal."
It sounded strangely like a threat, but Tadashi understood. Whoever this was, he's family.
"I won't let you down."
"Better not."
He said no more, scampering off into the woods. When Tadashi's eyes returned to you, he didn't miss the glow that was now glistening all over your body. He swore all he'd done was close his eyes for a moment, and the light around your body began to change. The fur was being replaced by skin, ears smoothing out. He blinked, and there you stood. Human and safe.
Here.
Present.
Alive.
There is so much he wants to ask.
Where you've been. What happened? Why wasn't he dead?
"(Y/N) I-"
"I gave up my immortality."
You spit it out like a secret you can no longer hold in.
Tadashi feels frozen.
From the tears that go rushing down your cheeks, he knows that it's taken everything to get you to admit this.
"I didn't care if I lost it. I just wanted you to be here. I wanted you back. I love you, I couldn't lose you...Please don't leave me! Don't leave me!"
The thought of you even imagining that he'd ever leave you hurts.
Tadashi pulls you into his arms before you can say much more. You hold him, and he knows you need to feel him.
Clarify that he's right there.

hey tumblr! i posted this on the bh6 community tab, but here’s a little early christmas present :3
hello everyone, i’m a little late into posting since i did some baking, art (and also playing fortnite) but anyways here’s a silly little potential idea for a sequel to BH6 based on a dream i had (three separate times)! and no, i don’t know whether to call it bh6 2 or bh7 anyways…. if parts of the plot sound funky im sorry, i had a dream about it and trying to remember all of it was a lot for me at 5 in the morning
the scene is set, not much time has passed since the ending of the first movie. life has been going on as usual despite the whole superhero identity thing.
the group is hanging out, life seemingly undisturbed, until hiro gets a call on his phone, the caller ID is unknown, but the location…Yerba Buena, California. hiro doesn’t pick up, but a voicemail is left. later on in the day, on a spree of clearing his notifications off his phone, his finger slips and he clicks on the voicemail: and a voice, slightly deep, clear, but it doesn’t sound natural, almost like that of a wolf in pain, sounded out:
“hey you. yeah, you. listen. i found the lair of what seems to be almost like that of a comic book villain, and they seem too have spotted me, and i’ve been shot down. i’m miles away from a hospital, or oakland. only a hero team can help save me from getting murdered. so if you or anyone else you know has contact with this “big hero 6” organization. send them, and if not them, the police.”
great. another island containing villain. hiro shows this voicemail to baymax, who initiates contact with fred, wasabi, gogo, and honey. the following day, the team meet up and listen to the voicemail. the whole team (aside from fred who has some kind of hunch that it’s a trap) agree that they should go to the island..they all end up going, and besides a US coastguard base, nothing is there. upon landing, they don’t see this wolf-voiced man, only traces of footprints, leading somewhere, a shallow ledge by the sand and water.
“hello? is anyone here? hurt? we were asked to be sent here..” hiro would call out.
a rustle of bushes and out steps another masked man, but the mask is that of a fox, red markings accenting the cheeks, eyes and forehead, a neutral expression. and aside him, a robot. it’s height, similar to baymax, build: similar to baymax in the hero armor, but that’s his natural build. the build is similar to samurai armor, moon insignias on the shoulders and torso. an intimidating amount of flexibility in its joints as it moved.
the wolf voiced man only said two words:
“Tsukuyomi. Fight.”
That was when the robot seemed to have a go at the other his size, baymax.
hiro would begin to give orders to the team to help baymax and fight off tsukuyomi while he deals with fox mask.
as he sees the boy approach, the fox-masked man approaches him as well.
hiro, decides attempting martial arts on him, which fails. this fox man, seems to know his every move. like he’s reading his mind, or he’s studied the way he moves….its just fighting a losing battle.
they’re all fighting a losing battle. tsukuyomi has been able to fend all of them off, fox mask and hiro haven’t gotten anywhere. and after the waves accidentally wash up on tsukuyomi’s leg and he begins to malfunction, fox mask gives up, and leaves, the back of fox masks’s cape, a sun, rays extending outwards.
back at the hamada garage, the group discuss the fight. one, fred was harping on the fact that his hunch was right. two, the absurdity of Fox Mask (who they later began calling Amaterasu and Tenko interchangeably), and Tsukuyomi. Tenko was able to read hiro like a book. so did tsukuyomi, reading baymax and the others like books.
a conclusion to this was drawn. this is another person they know. but who? callaghan? in prison. krei? doesn’t have any particular grudge with either of them. cass? no way. any teacher? why. classmate? also why.
they would have to go a little deeper.
later on in the week. news of robots terrorizing the town would be heard. robots don’t hurt people, that’s was part of one of callaghan’s laws. so why would any robot hurt and or terrorize humans? simple, they were built without the code in order to preventing them from doing any harm to humans.
five of these robots (picture them looking like the tesla robots haha) were out and about doing whatever the hell it wanted. and the team set out to destroy. each were assigned a robot to take on (hiro and baymax would take one on together)
gogo handled hers with ease. honey, creatively. wasabi, efficiently, fred, in his usual fred style. the problem was that the last robot was another similar to baymax, but more similar to tsukuyomi rather than baymax. this one had a built in katana what seems to have been made of scrap metal. a sound rang out from the robot.
“this pitiful city still has it’s heroes? even after my arrest?!” callaghan’s back. great. but he sounds insane, as if something happened to him in prison…“this city i gave my life for! my knowledge! and it pays me back with a slap in the face! my daughter was just some lab rat for them to use. and to think you’re doing this for the sake of san fransokyo?! this city took something valuable for me and sent her into hypersleep. this city took everything from you, hamada! your brother, mother and father are gone because of this city’s failure!”
hiro would speak up: “what happened to you, callaghan? when i last saw you you were filled with remorse! now you’re back into building just to see san fransokyo fall? why?! you got your little revenge against krei. what are you doing?!”
“getting knocked upside the head by prisoners and getting sent to solitary because you’re old and you fight people.”
“things have resolved now. your memories from head injuries are affecting your mental state and they’re making you think things that weren’t true! this city never failed you! it tried to help!” hiro would try to explain
“WHERE WERE THEY WHEN TADASHI BLEW UP THEN?!”
hiro was stunned silent, his dead brother was used in a damning arguement against him…a person who looked up to this inventor turned madman.
with a dash, the robot would use the katana to make a cut at hiro, before being intervened by tsukuyomi and Amaterasu, who also had swords.
an aeriel duel, of villain turned vigilante, and when fending off the robot, tenko turned to hiro.
hiro would be puzzled, “why..are you helping me..? you fought me..?”
“a brother has to help a brother out…right?” the mask was taken off….a smile so warm, eyes so soft, hair, the normal swoop it always had. a few burn scars on the side of his face and neck….Tadashi Hamada.
“tadashi?!”
“i’ve been looking for you. but now? no time to talk. i’ll explain a bit later. let’s finish him off.”
hiro smiled, a tear slithering down his face, “yeah…”
overwhelming the robot (and callaghan’s brain) using multiple fighting skills, the robot was snapped in half.
landing, hiro ran over to tadashi (and so did everyone else) giving him the first embrace they’ve had in months.
“why..what happened…? how did you fake it?!”
“if he can do it, i could too. except i almost actually died. he took me to oakland for the time being and we’ll, everyone thought i died. i had no money. my phone was taken by callaghan and i had to use a 25 cent phone.” tadashi smiles, “ive looked everywhere, hoping one day you’d come back into my life. and when i heard about that whole super hero thing…i had to come find you…some way, so like i built baymax…i built Tsukuyomi….I only did this to get your attention…The mask has a voice change…I never did turn to villainy…”
“aunt cass is so going to ground you when we tell her what happened…”
and when they got home and after cass had an emotional breakdown, tadashi did indeed find himself grounded. tsukuyomi was deactivated, maybe he’d make use one day.
and at the end, tadashi was given a suit. as he joined with his brother and friends once more.
anyways that’s all i remember from the dream besides me watching it in theaters and im sobbing…with my recent lucky streak maybe JUST MAYBE, this fiction can be reality…hey, stuff in my dreams has happened in real life, and i’ve had this dream 3 times…so…is it happening. anyways if you would like me to answer questions, suggest anything, ask for clarifications, i am open to discussion 100 percent!!!! thanks for reading! :3333

secret santa | h.h. bh6
Well, guess who’s recycling old fanfiction because didn’t have time to write new ones again? Yeah... me. I hope you guys like it anyway, I wanted to write a BTS one but I was really out of time *sigh* Merry Christmas, anyway! Enjoy!
Tumblr media
~ gif is not mine ~
Hiro Hamada X You | fluff | word count: +1.7k
The doorbell rang at the Hamada's place, aunt Cass yelled for someone to open the door for her. Tadashi answered the door a few seconds later.
"Hey (Y/N)! We all were just waiting for you."
"Hehe sorry for being late by the way."
"Don't worry about it, come on in."
You were wearing a red ugly Christmas sweater that had little green Christmas trees all over it and also a white shirt collar, dark brown leggings and some furry boots. You hung your white coat on the wall beside the door and followed Tadashi upstairs to the living room, a golden wrapped gift in your hands.
"(Y/N)! You're finally here!" You laughed and hugged aunt Cass back, you already could smell the great food she was cooking at the kitchen. "Make yourself at home. You can put your present under the tree along with the others."
This year you and the gang decided to make a different holiday. Instead of everyone buying little gifts for everyone you all decided to do a secret santa, so you guys could spend a little more money with a good present for only one friend. Even aunt Cass liked the idea and joined you, but Fred was definitely the most excited person in the group.
"Hey guys!" You said as you approached the couches where the gang was chilling and they greeted you back as you placed your gift on the ground.
You talked for a while with the holiday album of Idina Menzel playing low and softly in the radio. Suddenly you notice that Hiro hasn't talked, you glanced at him just to find him staring nervously at you but he quickly looked away even more nervous now.
He is your best friend, and you didn't know why he's been acting strange since you and the gang got the names of your secret santa's. It's true that lately you have been feeling weird around him because of how the puberty hits on him, and goddamnit, the bastard knew how to work on that boy! It's been two weeks that you can't sleep without thinking about him, but you never thought about his side of the situation.
"Dinner's ready!" Aunt Cass called all of you for the typical Christmas dinner. It was delicious, probably the best Christmas food you ever ate in your life but you couldn't expect less from aunt Cass’ amazing skills.
After feeding yourselves so much that you had to practically roll your bodies back to the living room, Honey Lemon was the one who suggested that the secret santas should be revealed now. You glanced at Hiro once again. He's looking at the floor with his head on his hand and frantically shaking his left leg up and down, patting his heel on the floor. He does that every time he's desperate, you knew it because he's you're one who does that and he ended up getting that habit of yours for himself.
"Okay. My secret santa..." Honey said once she got a yellow box. "Is... here in this room!" She said not innocently at all and everyone groaned or looked at her with a 'really?' face.
"Hahah okay sorry! My secret santa is a guy." The rest gestured for her to continue. "And if it wasn't for his weird obsession we'd all be with dirty hands from the food we just had now."
Then Fred screamed.
"AH! C'MON! IS IT ALL YOU GOT? OBVIOUSLY IT'S WASABI!" Honey nodded then giggled as Wasabi got up for a hug and to aunt Cass to take a picture. The gift was a professional suitcase for his tools he loves so much, Honey really knew how to impress people when it's about gifts.
Wasabi got a round black wrapped gift and cleaned his throat.
"My secret santa... is a girl, and I kind of got scared at first when I got her, but then I thought about this amazing gift," he lifted the present up. "And I calmed down... uh... well, I'm not into much mystery so I hope you like it Gogo." He handed the gift for her, she was shocked at first but then after the hug and the picture when she opened the gift.
"Wow! Wasabi, it's amazing!" She was smiling for real this time, rare thing to happen. "It's a typical 'Wasabi' kind of gift but I love it." Gogo raised the present and everyone echoed her 'wow!'. It was a black bike helmet with purple flames decals and a silver ‘G’ on each side of it.
"Safety comes first, my friend." Wasabi said proudly and Gogo hugged him again, such a Christmas-ish moment.
Gogo got a silver pack on her hands and said.
"Okay, my secret santa is a boy and... screw that I really wanna see him here at once! It's Hiro." Hiro froze as he heard that, he forced a smile at the picture and looked like a statue when he hugged her. Gogo gave him a mini kit of tools and a giant Gummy Bear plush.
Honey Lemon rapidly picked her phone and started recording as Hiro picked up a metallic black box, you were more confused than a blind person in the middle of a battlefield.
"Damn it! I thought my nervousness would fade by now but it didn't." He chuckled. "My secret santa is someone that means a lot to me and I hope that I mean a lot to this person too. I made the mistake to tell Honey who it is and now I'm here trying not to look like a fool." He scratched the back of his neck, you loved when he did that and you smiled involuntarily. "Honey said this was the perfect opportunity so... (Y/N), come here."
What? You looked around with a questioned look, got up and stand up beside Hiro. He gave you the gift.
"You're my secret santa." He revealed his adorkable tooth gap you loved too. Wow... There's a lot of things you love about him, right?
"Open it!" He encouraged you, you noticed Honey were still recording. You unwrapped the paper slowly to make a bit of mystery but Gogo couldn't stand that.
"C'mon!" You giggled and noticed Hiro blushing as you did so, when you finished unwrapping you gasped and looked back up at Hiro with a hand in your mouth. Right there in front of you were nothing more and nothing less than (*insert fandom thing you really want here*)
"Hiro!" you screamed, he laughed still blushing. "Keep going! There's more!" You took of the gorgeous thing out of the box.
"Wow! Can I see that (Y/N)?!" Fred asked excitedly.
"Sure," you stopped on your tracks. "Just don't ruin it please." Fred nodded as you handed it to him, you then turned back to the blushing black haired boy and blushed a little too.
You took off a lot of crumpled paper out to find a little dark blue velvet box at the bottom, you took it in your hands and it had the perfect same size of your hand. You looked at Hiro, he gently took the velvet box from your hands and placed the bigger gift box on the ground.
"Okay. There's two options right now: you literally gonna love me or you literally gonna hate me." You gave him a confused look. "You ready?"
"Well... I don't know!" Everyone chuckled.
"Just open the goddamn box already!" Tadashi screamed and aunt Cass laughed.
You turned to Hiro, he took a deep breath and opened the box with his eyes closed. You gasped at what you saw. It was a necklace, with your favorite picture of you and Hiro on it and in the back of the pendant was written ‘I love you - H’. Hiro slowly opened his eyes and pulled a little board out of nowhere.
“Do you wanna be my girlfriend?"
Your hand went back to your mouth, so Hiro has been feeling the same for you all along? You felt your eyes get wet as he showed his tooth gap once again.
"Oh my gosh!" You finally spoke after what felt like an eternity for Hiro. "YES!" You threw yourself at Hiro's neck and the gang cheered as crazy.
"I've been wanting to do this for so long." He whispered in your ear as he hugged you back by the waist, you laughed.
"And I've been waiting for you to do this for such as long." You two broke the hug and Hiro helped you to put the necklace on.
He gave you a kiss on the cheek before heading back to his seat. You didn't pay much attention to the rest of the secret santa right now, you closed the circle giving Honey Lemon a cute summer scarf.
Then Fred gave aunt Cass a French imported tea cup kit. Aunt Cass gave Tadashi a new computer for his works, now he didn't need to share that one with Hiro anymore. And Tadashi gave Fred a collection of action figures of ‘The Avengers’.
Then you all took a lot of pictures and videos and also did a lot of ‘musical.ly’s with each other, you all had so much fun.
After a good round of hot chocolate you stood beside Hiro looking outside the window.
"So... You're my girlfriend now." He couldn't stop smiling while looking at the snow covered street.
"Yeah... And you're my boyfriend." You weren't different. "What would our little selves think about this?" You laughed.
"They'd probably puke!" He joined your laugh then looked deeply in your eyes. "I really meant that (Y/N)."
"Meant what?"
"What's in the necklace." You smiled breathing a laugh.
"But I wanna hear it from you, knucklehead."
"I thought you didn't like too much cheesy."
"And I don't. The things you do to me, Hamada." You got closer to him and he whispered just for you to hear.
"I love you, (Y/N)." All you could hear was both of your hearts beating in sync.
"I love you too, Hiro." You whispered back.
"Hey, lovebirds!" You both looked at the gang at the sound of Fred's voice.
"Look up!" Wasabi screamed this time.
"Mistletoe." You and Hiro said at the same time as you did what Wasabi told you to.
It was like slow motion. You looking at Hiro's brown eyes, he looking at your (*eye color*) ones as they started closing together with the distance between your lips.
Best. Christmas. Ever.

A Night to a Decade of Faith
Tags: late night walks; burnout; autumn stuff idk skkssks you'd get what i mean if you'd give it a read :>
Summary: hiro struggled with a lot of things, getting into sfit was just one. surviving it was another. a walk, he reckoned, would help with his mental state. however, little did he know, a soul would come to give him clarity... and also a little patience for a decade of waiting
Word Count: 2737
College—my, Hiro thought it was going to be just easy. He thought that it was just all about finessing your output, and with the simplest one, he could easily impress his professors.
But he was wrong. It was far from being easy. High school always had his name as the top student—the best student, actually. Which got him to accelerate and advance further than those who are of his age. It was simple to get on top of everything. College, however—the exact opposite.
He feels like he's behind of his game. No matter how hard he studies, no matter how hard he grinds, it just doesn't feel as if he's excelling anymore. And as someone who wasn't used to this sort of feeling, he feels kinda trashy to say the least.
And it was one of those days, where burnout got the best of him.
7 o'clock, his clock read. The cursor on the screen blinked, waiting to be moved by his hands that kept running through his hair for more than he could count. Frustration bubbled down from within, and he feels the need to lash out.
Sighing heavily, he tried to look at it from another angle, however, the more he looked, the less he found coherency. Out of frustration, he pushed himself out of his swivel chair and up the stairs to his room.
His project was actually due tomorrow, and because of midterms from last week, he felt really burned out and empty of any sort of brilliancy.
All this is too tiring, he thought of himself.
But he didn't want to fail.
Not finishing that project would mean jeopardizing his midterm grades, and he doesn't want that to happen. But he also just couldn't find it in himself to go and actually start it out because there were no ideas coming.
And so, in a quick spiral he went, going through a lot of things at once before actually grasping the full meaning of his thoughts that kept plaguing his mind.
Too absent minded, he dragged himself out of bed, grabbed his jacket, and made a beeline to the front door. He didn't bother saying goodbye to his Aunt, who was still busy manning the cashier despite the late hour.
The cold city air immediately greeted him, with the soft buzzing of the cars zooming in the distance, and the occasional honks of mad drivers in the street—yup, this was San Fransokyo.
He held his jacket closer to his body as he turned to a random direction. The city was still pretty much alive at this hour, with some of the streets clogged with vehicles rushing to get home, or to wherever their destination may be. Strangers pushed passed him, yet he was pretty much a walking corpse in the middle of a lively crowd, he let them.
He was reaching  a point in his walk where his brain shut down all the thoughts. Mindlessly, he continued to wander on to a city where his inner musings were drowned with the humming of the evening life. Only then did he found himself in the middle of a silent road, dimly lit with street lamps and quaint lanterns hung in ununiformed directions.
For a moment, he was worried that he stumbled on a way to the cat alley where he used to go bot fighting. However, upon further inspection, he noticed that it was not the same. Sighing, he was about to try and trace his way back home when his stomach grumbled in hunger. Which then reminds him he didn't eat anything for lunch, and also dinner.
And so, off he went to look for a diner, only to slap himself on the forehead because he didn't bring any change with him. Well, he couldn't entirely blame himself, his mental state wasn't on the most optimal.
Footsteps sounded from behind him, and on instinct, he turned to see a cute looking girl in a black leather jacket approaching him.
She held a cup of takeaway from an open shop nearby, the smell wafting unto Hiro's nostrils, causing his stomach to churn. Letting out a discreet sigh, he just turned around and tried to mentally retrace his footsteps.
The smell grew closer and closer, and Hiro's mind only circled unto that, grasping it like it was the only coherent thing around. He mentally slapped himself for only focusing on the food instead of trying to remember the path that he took for him to get here.
"You lost?" A soft voice questioned. He turned, only to see the same girl that he had seen a moment ago.
"I—" he was speechless, embarrassed even. Because the idea just sunk in, he got lost in his own city. And it's pretty poetic, too.
With a soft smile, she immediately got her answer, "No one stumbles here unless they're actually sure that this is their stop. You new here?" She tilted her head to the side, sending him a questioning look.
"I actually live here but—" his statement was cut off when his stomach loudly grumbled, embarrassing him in front of the cute girl in front of him. She hummed before offering him the treat she had.
One by which he, hesitating, gently accepted from her grasp.
"Uh, thanks."
She smiled, the most charming he ever saw someone smile for possibly his whole life. "Anytime, now let me help you find your way back. Trying to navigate this area is quite of a pain if you ask me, you might get even more lost. You're from the main, right? Looks like you kinda wandered a bit too far out because the city's kind of a walk from here." With that, they begin walking back, retracing Hiro's steps.
"Uh, thanks," he uttered, digging in on the food she had with her.
"You're welcome. You okay, though?" She asked, hugging her jacket closer to her body as the cold air blew passed them, softly shaking the lanterns that contributed the soft glow of the area.
"M'fine," he answered simply, looking down at his shoes.
Her gaze lingered a bit before turning back to the road, "Doesn't look like it," she uttered. "You seemed kinda lost. Although, if you don't want to tell me, it's fine. I won't pry."
He let out a breath, white vapors escaping unto the atmosphere formed, "Just kinda burned out," Hiro replied, "but that doesn't matter anyway."
She guided him to a turn and into an open road, "Hmm, high school?"
He opened his mouth to reply, eyeing both sides of the road before crossing along the pedestrian, "College."
With that, she paused and threw him a gaze, her mouth slightly parted in shock from the unexpected information, "Okay, first off, I wasn't expecting a kid as young as you to be in college."
He only slightly chuckled at her response, he got that a lot so he was used to it. "Well, my brother forced me to go to college actually. "
She hummed, the tone a bit disdainful. "He sounds kinda boring," she commented, to which Hiro only laughed at.
He refuted her statement, "No, no. The opposite, actually. But sometimes, he could get a bit... protective?"
"Hmm, what does he do then?" The both of them paused in front of a stop light, waiting for the lights to go red.
"He actually studies at SFIT."
"Wow. I take back what I said. He sounds cool," she smiled, "And where do you study, then?"
"SFIT," he casually replied before crossing the road, almost leaving his companion behind, the latter with wide eyes.
This kid's a genius, she mentally remarked as she caught up with his long stride.
"Okay, wow. I heard it's hard getting in there?"
"Well, I'm not sure with the other programs but with robotics, you just have to think of a good invention that'll impress the judges and the professors—"
She felt something inside her head, something that resembled the sound of a lightbulb lighting up, "You're in the robotics program?"
"Uh, yeah."
Aw, he's cool, she thought.
With a smile, she spoke in awe, "Okay, wow. Like how do you get your life sorted just like that?"
He threw her a side-glance, "What do you mean?"
She gave a little shrug, "Like, you people actually know what you want to do in life, huh?"
"Well, actually, about that... It took me a while to know what I want to do in life. But it only took my brother's convincing and tour around the lab to get me to decide," he replied.
"And what about you? What do you do? You know, you're not supposed to be talking to strangers. I could've murdered you," he teasingly said.
"I like to take my chances. And says you! I could've poisoned you," she teasingly retorted.
"But you didn't."
"Some poison takes time to react with the body," he almost stopped in shock. Upon noticing his slowly blanching features, she laughed. "Oh my gosh, chill! I didn't, and why would I be leading you to a crowded place then?"
"But yeah. I really don't know what I want to do in life. I don't feel like I belong to anything. Dropped out of high school because of those bullies, and also, because of my teachers and stuff. And yeah, I'm just literally floating around, existing..."
"You'll eventually find out what you want to do in life. Just give it time. I'm not entirely sure with mine but well, here we are."
"Do you love what you do?"
"Yeah, don't get me wrong but it's just really stressful to always be up my game all the time. I also have other responsibilities aside from just being a student," he sighed, pulling her back from almost hitting a lamp post, "okay, careful there."
"Close call, thanks."
"But yeah, you get it."
"Well, when was the last time you had fun?" She asked.
"I don't remember," he replied.
"Well, that's exactly what you need—I know a place! C'mon, it's gonna  be great!"
With that, the two of them changed directions. How they managed to establish a slither of trust and bond in that small moment, they don't know. But they were sure that they were comfortable with each other.
He made a mental note to always put spare change in him before leaving the house—either mentally or physically not okay.
And so, their little adventure began. He could say that the feeling was a bit cliche—as if out of a fictional bestseller that sat in bookstores. He couldn't find the words to describe what it felt like running down the dimly lit streets whilst laughing at corny jokes and random memories. She was one of a kind, and that's when it all made sense—she really didn't belong to anyone.
She is a free soul.
She belongs to the stars, the skies, and the dimly lit streets of July. She was the piece of summer that giggled in the early autumn evening. She was a beautiful soul, and that, in and of itself, is a high compliment.
From licking ice creams in the late hours, laughing at kids in the convenience store, and reminiscing about late summer ventures, to ultimately questioning what they want to do in life.
"I have a lot of ambitions, actually," she told him. The two of them sat on a bench, eyeing the full moon that slowly rose from behind the tall buildings of the city. She looked at the bag of chips that she grasped, skimming through the wrapper absent-mindedly. "But I really can't bring myself to continue on with schooling."
It was late, and Hiro knew that his project was waiting at home. But he couldn't have the heart to tell her about that mere fact. Nor does he even have the will power to get himself to stand up from that bench.
It was a beautiful evening, and he doesn't have the conscience to ruin it for himself, nor for her too.
"Then, why not? I mean, we only live once. You gotta go and chase those ambitions," he replied.
"Well, I'm thinking it's kinda impossible? I mean, it's all crazy to me. And I really don't know if I can get myself to continue on... with it," she hesitated a bit.
"Well, you really wouldn't know if you won't try," he looked at the street, "I got to a point where I almost gave up trying to get into SFIT, but sometimes, you just got to look at another angle and give it another try."
A smile ghosted her lips, one that was bordering on in between bitterness and nostalgia, "Hmm, you're right. But aside from that, I don't think there's a path for someone like me."
"Then make one for yourself," he replied with a cheeky smile.
She returned it, but it was accompanied with the feeling of new found clarity.
"Hmm, yeah. Why haven't I thought of that?"
Her companion only shrugged.
Her phone then rang, signaling her that it was time to leave.
"Ah, that's my que," she said, crestfallen, "But hey, don't stress out too much with your academics. Trust me, you're doing great. Oh, and just hit me up if you need someone, 'kay?"
And from that, goodbyes were exchanged.
Yet sometimes, when you're having too much fun, you forget to exchange names.
...and contact numbers.
~
The next morning, Hiro woke up to the sun shining directly on his eyes. Noticing that he fell asleep on his desk, he opened his computer immediately, slightly panicking and trying to remember if he, indeed, finished his project.
And he did.
And it was all thanks to...
...what's her name again?
He racked his brain for any sort of information about her, but he couldn't seem to remember anything about her.
Then, it all sunk in.
Was she even real?
Groaning, he slouched on his chair, he wasn't even sure anymore.
And so, from that day on, he continued to live his life, but not without even wondering about her; Was she okay? Did she go on to pursue her ambitions and make a  way for herself? A path carved with a shovel of uncertainty—either she stops  or she continues on. He wondered if she ever came back to school.
And with each wondering came the feeling of slowly losing her into nothing but a memory of yesterday. He didn't want that. He wants nothing of that.
With every leather jacket he sees on the streets, he makes sure to stop to look, silently hoping that he'd see the same smile that she offered him in that chilly autumn evening. With every smile people offered him, he knew that she was different, as it spoke millions into just one grin. He tried to look for her, really, that people around him almost dubbed him as the crazy one trying to hunt something down that had little to no identity. Nothing but a soul.
He tried to locate where he once found himself lost, but she did, in fact, say that it was hard to locate even for locals. He reached a point where he just decided to let things be. There will come a time where their paths will cross, and that's for sure.
He couldn't help but sometimes feel insane. She might be a fever dream for all he knew, all was uncertain. But it's the faith that had him clinging on to the memory that she left, it was faith that had him clinging on to the sound of her laughter that rang late at that specific evening. It was the small sliver of faith that got him to claim that no, he wasn't crazy.
He laughed at his own analogy, a free soul.
She did resemble one, because she appeared only for a moment of fun before disappearing God knows where.
A decade onward did he begin to once again question his own sanity.
The same laughter that rang through the silence of the cold convenience store played with his ears. Blinking, he straightened up, despite the heavy box of robotic parts he was carrying back to the lab, and looked around.
And again, it went.
He was sure he wasn't insane...
Frantically he searched for a sliver of familiarity.
He was totally crazy for holding on to this for more than a decade but he didn't care. He was hoping...
"You lost?"

Trans Hiro (Big Hero 6)
Hey, Baxmax.” Can you hand me my hoodie.”
“Certainly, Hiro.” He gave him his hoodie which he put on.
Hiro was a teen boy living in San Frantokyo. He lived with his Aunt Cass who owned a little shop. Hiro was also a hero. He was part of a team called Big Hero 6. There was him, Fred, Go Go, Wasbi, and Honey Lemon. They saved the world from all sorts of bad guys all while doing their homework. He still missed Tadashi though. He knew Tadashi was looking down at them proud. As he was remembering Baxmax was looking at a photo. He was examining it looking at it's details. He than walked up to Hiro and held it to him.
“This is an interesting photo.” Baxmax said. Hiro looked it it. It was a photo of him, Takashi, and Aunt Cass. It was from a few years ago. Before he became Hiro.
“Yep. That was when Tadashi, Aunt Cass, and Me went to New York. It was a lot of fun. Though there was one part where I threw up because we were on a big skyscraper. That was embarrassing. Still, it was a good vacation.
“You look different here.”
“That was before I became myself.” Hiro said. “When I was still a girl.”'
“Yes.” Baymax replied. “Takashi programmed me to know of your transition.”
“That was good of him. Always thinking ahead.” He looked at more of the photos. “Here's another one at a birthday party a little but before I transitioned. It was a lot of fun... Until I ate too much candy and threw up. Here's a photo on a Christmas a few years ago. That was a great Christmas. I got a kit where you can make your own robot. It's what got me into robots in the first place. Here's me and Takashi with our parents. It was the last photo we took with them before they died. Now Takashi is with them.” Hiro looked a little sad now.
“While I already know the story of how you came out to Takashi maybe if you told me personally it would make you feel better.” Hiro looked at Baymax. He supposed it wouldn't hurt to so that.
“Alright. I was 10 years old when I told him. I was depressed about the way I looked and he did seem to notice. We were always close so I knew I would tell him first. Hiro closed his eyes to remember it all.
Hiro was in his room playing video games when Takashi came in.
“Hey, sis.” He said. What are you going?” Hiro cringed at the sis a bit.
“Just playing some games.”
“That's neat. What are you planning on going later?”
“Probably this.” Hiro shrugged.
“Not anything else?” He smiled.
“I wasn't planning to.” Hiro said knowing Takashi was planning something. But what?
“Well that sounds great. Though I know something better.”
“Like what?”
“Much better.”
“What?”
“A million times better.” “Takashi what is it?” He took out to pieces of paper and showed them to Hiro.
“No way.” Hiro was astonished.
“Yep. Robo-Cage Battle. Front seats. With the best players in town playing.”
“How'd you get these?”
“I had a little money left from my last project.” He crossed his arms.
“And front seats too.”
“Yep. If we're lucky some of the robo parts will land near us. A little something to take home. So what do you say?”
Heroe got up from his seat and smiled. He stuck out his arm and the two did their little knuckle touch. Later on they want to the place it was at.
“So you got any bets?” Takashi asked Hiro.
“I'll bet you the last piece of Aunt Cass's chocolate pie that the Stingin Grasshopper will win.
“I think it will be the Omega Boxer.”
“You'll on!” Hiro said.
The Omega Boxer sprung forward and quickly threw it's arm forward. But the Stringin Grasshopper jumped up high and laded on the other side of the ring. The Boxer then went backward and did another throw only to miss again. The Omega went went up fast and threw it's arm again hitting the grasshopper.
“Yeah. I won!” Takashi cheered.
“Not so fast.” Hiro said.
While the crowed cheered the Grashopper brought out a stringer and went it though the Boxer ending it. The grasshopper won.
“You knew that would happen, didn't you?”
“I might have gotten some pointers.”
As they left Takashi got them two hotdogs to eat.
“Eating that pie always gets met to add a couple pounds anyway.”
“I'll spilt it with you. Hiro said.” They ate their hotdogs.
“Takashi. Can I tell you something.”
“Hmm.”
“Would you like me as your brother?”
“Yeah, I won't see why not. In a way you kind of are.”
“I- I wish I was.”
“What do you mean?”
“I'm a boy.” Hiro said quietly. “I've known for a while but I've been to nervous to tell anyone. I want to be more like you. You're my hero and I can't see being inspired by anyone else. I want to be your brother for now on.” Hiro finished. It was silent a moment.
“I was wondering when you were going to tell me.”
“Huh? You knew” Takashi nodded.
“Of course. I'm your brother after all. I can tell something was bothering you for a while. It took me a while to fond out but when I did I knew it was true.”
“Why didn't you say anything?”
“I wanted you to. So you can show how strong you've become. And you have. In a way you're my hero.”
“Thanks.”
“Do you have name yet? How about Hiro? My brother Hiro.”
“Yeah. I like that.”
“Me too.”
Back in the present Hiro finished his story.
“And just like that you were a boy?” Baymax asked.
“Well it took some time. We had to tell Aunt Cass and change a lot of things and have doctor visits. But yes I became a boy. I told the guys overtime. Of course they knew too as Takashi once told them.”
“I'm glad they were fond of you.”
“Yeah. They're great. Aunt Cass too.
“Hiro?”
“Yeah”
“How about a game of Robo- Cage battle?”
“Yeah. Let's go.”
